This wonderful 1993 grey stallion is out of one of only two grey mares in the breed that all of our present day greys decend. Ash began his breeding career with his first crop of foals that arrived in 1996, and our acquisition of this unique stallion in 1999 produced our first grey foals in 2001.
In 2007, Ash began a very belated show career under the direction of Jordy Johns' Stonehouse Stables. This tractible, sensible stallion took it all in stride and we were very proud of his first appearance at the Kandi Klassic Spring Show, where he was reserve in the Open Western Pleasure class. |
My first venture into Morgans began in the early 1970's when my friend Angela Conner began searching for Morgans in the United States to export to England. I helped Angela find her Morgans during this period, and in later years, I sold Morgans both to England as well as Japan. I started my own breeding program in 1988 in North Carolina as Dogwood Morgans, and then as Dogwood Mtn Morgans, but the purchase of Ash lead us to the Silverstone prefix, which we thought was perfect for our grey endeavors. We were very proud to sell the first gray Morgan into Canada in 2006 to Lyle & Cindy Dietz, the filly Silverstone Firefly Ash.
